Genettas

The Genetta cat is the next generation of Exotic cats. Created by Shannon Kiley in 2006, this Bengal/Munchkin hybrid is the ultimate in beauty and character. They are very friendly, playful, and inquisitive cats. Even when fully mature, they retain their kitten like qualities. Large gem like eyes, super soft coat, and loads of affection, make the Genetta cat the purrfect companion.

The ideal cat of this breed resembles the African Genet. The Genetta cat has short legs and is medium to small in size, with a very long body that has a weasel like appearance. The tail is very long, preferably longer than the length of the body. The coat is pelt like and exotic looking, with dramatic spots/rosettes or marbled pattern.

We currently breed non-standard Genettas. Non-standard means that they have longer legs like a Bengal, not short like a Munchkin. At this stage in development, the non-standard Genettas remind me of an elusive, rare cat called the Kodkod.
